What it does

Choose products by title, vendor, type, tag, collection or status, or pick them by hand. Change price with rounding to .99 or .95, compare-at price, tags, vendor, type, status, title text, SKUs or a product metafield. Preview each before and after, then run.

Questions

Can I see what will change before anything is written?

Yes. Preview shows the fields before and after for the first 25 products of your selection (up to 60 changed fields), plus how many products the selection matches. Nothing is written until you click Run and then Confirm.

How does undo work?

Every change Editback makes is saved with the value the field had before. On a finished edit's page, click Undo this edit, then Confirm. Editback writes the old values back. Undo is free on every plan.

What if I changed a product by hand after the edit?

Undo writes back the values from before the edit. If you changed the same field by hand in between, undo replaces it with the older value. Fields the edit didn't touch are left alone.

How do scheduled sales work?

Set a start time (or leave it blank to start now) and a revert time. A scheduler checks every 5 minutes, so a revert usually completes within about ten minutes of the revert time. Times are entered in your browser's time zone.

Does it work on large catalogs?

Yes, in batches of 20 products. The first batch runs as soon as you confirm and the rest continue in the background every few minutes. Very large edits take a while, and History shows progress.

What's free?

One bulk edit per calendar month, with preview, undo and scheduled reverts included. Standard removes the monthly limit and comes monthly or annual, with a 14-day free trial.

What does History do?

On a History plan, Editback records changes to your products' title, status, vendor, product type, tags, and each variant's price, compare-at price and SKU, with the time of each change, and keeps them 90 days. Pick any change and restore the earlier value after one confirmation. Shopify does not tell apps which staff member made an edit in the admin, so Editback shows what changed and when, and whether Editback made the change.

Do I need Standard and History both?

Shopify allows one subscription per app, so the combined Standard + History plan ($17/month or $170/year) gives you unlimited bulk edits and change history together, for less than the two separately.

Does Editback store customer data?

No. It stores your edits and the before and after values of the product fields it changed, and, on a History plan, the product-change history. Everything is deleted when Shopify sends the shop-redaction request after uninstall.
