What it does
Shelfcheck checks your active variants for gaps that affect shipping and customs: missing weight, HS code or country of origin, missing barcode or SKU, duplicate SKUs or barcodes, no product image, shipping switched off, untracked stock. Each issue shows its impact, and a readiness score tracks progress.
- Ten catalog rules, each one on or off, tuned to how you ship
- Bulk-set weight, HS code or country of origin on selected variants
- Copy HS code or country of origin from a sibling variant
- Products rechecked when they're created or edited
- Email alert for new checkout issues, plus a weekly summary
Who it's for
- Stores that use carrier-calculated shipping rates, where a missing weight makes the rate come out wrong.
- Stores that ship abroad and need HS codes and countries of origin on every variant.
- Anyone who imports or bulk edits products and wants to know what got left blank.

Questions
What does Shelfcheck check?
Ten rules on your active variants: no weight, no HS code, no country of origin, no barcode, no SKU, duplicate SKU, duplicate barcode, no product image, shipping switched off, and inventory not tracked. Turn each on or off in Settings. The last two start off.
Why does a missing weight matter?
Shopify treats a product with no weight as weightless, so weight-based and carrier-calculated rates can come out wrong for that cart. Shelfcheck marks it as the most serious kind of issue if you tell it you use carrier-calculated rates.
Does it change my products?
Only when you click Apply fix, and only the field you chose (weight, HS code, country of origin, “requires shipping” or “track quantity”) on the variants you ticked. It never changes stock quantities, prices or titles.
How often does it check?
Right after install, whenever a product is created or edited, when you click Scan now, and in a background scan about once a day.
What about gift cards and draft products?
Draft and archived products are skipped. Gift cards aren't flagged for a missing barcode or SKU.
How is the readiness score worked out?
It's the share of your active variants that are ready to sell. Each variant counts by its worst open issue: fully with none, 70% with only hygiene issues, 40% with a customs issue, not at all with a checkout-shipping issue. Snoozed and ignored issues don't count.
Which plan do I need?
There's one plan, monthly or annual, both with a 14-day free trial.
Does Shelfcheck store customer data?
No. It stores your settings, the issues it found (product titles, SKUs, barcodes) and a log of scans and alerts.
